Recession varies radically through the demographic spectrum

The New York Times has an interesting interactive chart showing unemployment rate based on race, gender, age, and educational level.  For my demographic..i.e., white male, 25-44, college graduate….the unemployment rate is 3.9%.  A very small number compared to the nationwide 10.2% unemployment rate and the 48.5% unemployment rate for black males from 15-24 who didn’t complete high school.  48.5%…..a staggering figure.
